Pilsner Graffiti

A book of travel journal-style essays of the two cities — Pilsen and Prague — the author had visited, along with photographs, notes and sketches.
In the summer of 1968, my father — under unique circumstances — left his hometown of Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, for good.
Fifty summers later, I documented my forty-day trip to Pilsen and Prague from beginning to end.
Given this time frame, a mere scratch is the depth I got out of the place and its people. Enough time, though, to observe the varying paths led by my father's friends.
This is my attempt to sketch in their history and mark their existence on the streets of Pilsen, where the smell of beer, longing, and the omnipresent sound of trams filling the air are the Pilsner Graffiti of their lives.
